Grade-Level Color Teams

At Greene School, we utilize a team-teaching model to create a supportive and cohesive learning environment for our 5th and 6th-grade students. Students are grouped into cohorts, known as color teams, and are guided by a core interdisciplinary team of teachers specializing in English/language arts, social studies, mathematics, and science. Special education and English language learning (ELL) teachers are frequently integrated into these teams to provide additional support.

Our state-of-the art facilities allow each color team to have their own pod of classrooms. Each cohort of students stays with the same team of teachers within the team pod throughout the day, fostering strong relationships and consistent instructional strategies. This approach allows teachers to collaborate closely and address the unique needs of their students.

In addition to their core subjects, students travel to special classes, including music (orchestra, band, choir), art, STEAM, and gym. These specials enrich the students' educational experience and provide opportunities for creative and physical development.

Our team-teaching model ensures that every student at Greene School receives a well-rounded and personalized education, preparing them for future academic success.
