Sycamore utilizes the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework to provide a personalized learning experience for every student. This data-driven model helps teachers identify individual academic needs, including gifted services, intervention, or English as a Second Language (ESL) support. Classroom teachers also use assessments to inform their delivery of appropriate instruction for all students.

Sycamore Schools work hard to meet students where they are in their learning, providing specialized support through Special Education, Gifted, and ESOL services.

At Sycamore Schools, our K-4 students enjoy a well-rounded educational experience through year-round daily specials. These enriching programs include Art, Media Center, Music, Physical Education, and STEAM. By engaging in these diverse subjects, students develop creativity, critical thinking, physical fitness, and a love for learning that extends beyond the core curriculum. In Grades 5-6, students continue to benefit from these daily specials while also exploring music options such as orchestra, band, and choir, further fostering their passion for music and performance.

The Portrait of an Aviator outlines the skills, characteristics, and attributes that our community values in each graduate. This framework guides the student learning experience from kindergarten through high school, aligning with the pillars of Sycamore's Strategic Plan. It defines essential skills for success, ensuring our students are well-prepared for their chosen paths after graduation.

Feeling safe and welcome at school is integral to our curriculum across all grade levels, with a particular emphasis on elementary education. We embrace the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, which fosters core values such as being safe, respectful of others, responsible, and a problem solver. These principles are embedded throughout our educational approach, nurturing a supportive and inclusive environment where students learn and grow academically and personally.

Sycamore Schools to develops the “whole child” by helping students build self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, and relationship and responsible decisionmaking skills. 

Sycamore follows the requirements of House Bill 123, the Safety & Violence Education (SAVE) Students Act, which provides yearly training for students in Grades 6 in social isolation, safety training, violence prevention, and suicide awareness and prevention.

Sycamore also follows as well as the mandated education laid out in Senate Bill 288, Erin's Law, which provides annual education for Grades K-6 related to child sexual abuse, dating violence, and sexual violence prevention. Erin’s Law also allows parents to opt their child out of this learning.
