Sycamore Schools to develops the “whole child” by helping students build self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, and relationship and responsible decisionmaking skills.
Sycamore follows the requirements of House Bill 123, the Safety & Violence Education (SAVE) Students Act, which provides yearly training for students in Grades 6 in social isolation, safety training, violence prevention, and suicide awareness and prevention.
Sycamore also follows as well as the mandated education laid out in Senate Bill 288, Erin's Law, which provides annual education for Grades K-6 related to child sexual abuse, dating violence, and sexual violence prevention. Erin’s Law also allows parents to opt their child out of this learning.
